It has been programmed to hand over 17.69 lakh hectares Pani Panchayats for operation and maintenance. During 2008-09, 161 lakh hectares of irrigated command has been handed over to 2151 pani panchayats for operation and maintenance. The Physical achievements upto 31.03.2009 is given in the following table.
